“Gasoline” is a music video based on the song made by the artist Halsey. The character presented in the video is “Kageyama (Mob) Shigeo” from the series, “Mob Psycho 100”.

In the series, Mob is a character who struggles with expressing his emotions in a unique way where it almost feels as if there is “another self” residing within him. This entity is deliberately named “???%” in which represents his emotions getting overwhelmed way beyond the limit he could handle; evidently destroying the world around him through overflowing power. For this reason, Mob feels like a monster.

 

This music video is meant to represent Mob’s conflict with himself. Was he a human or not?

The purpose for this video was to convey a short story and lighting practice within MMD. I tried my best to give the model within the environment some depth, while focusing on the character’s struggle with himself. Dark, yet high contrast gave the video the feeling I wanted to convey.
